Hoboken American Legion Gets Council OK: Homeless Veteran Shelter Planned
Plans for a homeless veteran housing space at the American Legion Post 107 on Second Street in Hoboken are moving forward.
Hoboken, NJ – Plans for a homeless veteran housing space at the American Legion Post 107 on Second Street are moving forward.
During the Hoboken City Council meeting on Wednesday, council members unanimously approved a resolution to execute a Municipal Board Property Ownership Consent Form.
The motion forwards American Legion Post 107 plan of creating a 900 square foot, six-unit housing facility for homeless veterans, including a kitchen facility, meeting rooms and a laundry station.

The project will now require approval from the Hoboken Zoning Board of Adjustment.
According to city officials, the American Legion, in partnership with Monarch Housing, Hoboken Shelter, and the City of Hoboken, was awarded six housing vouchers for homeless veterans in 2015.
