Hoboken To Channel Olympic Spirit, Celebrate LGBT Pride Month: Thursday
The 2016 Hoboken Olympic Day will celebrate diversity and LGBT Pride Month, city officials say.

Hoboken, NJ - The spirit of the Olympic Movement will roll into Hoboken on Thursday when the city hosts a variety of athletic and recreation events in celebration of Olympic Day.
The 2016 Hoboken Olympic Day will celebrate diversity and LGBT Pride Month, according to a city news release.
The event will take place on June 23 from 4 to 8 pm at Pier A Park, located near 1st Street and Sinatra Drive.

According to city officials, Hoboken’s honorary Olympian Gail A. Marquis, who played on the USA Women’s Basketball team that won the Silver Medal in 1976, will be in attendance, along with Olympic Gold Medalist Diane Dixon, who competed in the 400 meters.
The event will include workouts, health, fitness, fun runs, games, face paintings, vendors and giveaways. Afterwards, participants are invited to House Of 'Que to continue the celebration and meet other local community members.

All proceeds from the after party will be donated to Hudson Pride Connections Center, city officials stated.
Hoboken’s Olympic Day is one of more than 2,000 events taking place nationwide during the month of June, city officials said. The events, designed to engage youth and promote the ideals of the Olympic movement, feature athlete appearances, family-friendly activities and interactive learning experiences.
