HOBOKEN, NJ — Several students at the Hoboken Charter School recently got a chance to play “hot potato” and learn some computer coding skills during National Computer Science Education Week.

The event, held last month at Hoboken Charter School, included students from the school’s “Girls Who Code” club, who learned how to design a hot potato-type game using a littleBits code kit.

During the learning event, middle school students helped their elementary school counterparts to put together circuits and code them.

“The older girls get a chance to teach the younger girls about coding,” said Christopher Kunkel, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) educator at the school.

Kunkel praised the girls’ attitudes and desire to advance their scientific knowledge. “They were excited to share what they learned,” he said.
