Hoboken Cops Charge Totowa Man With Punching Spree
Hoboken Police: Two of the victims said that their alleged attacker slugged one of them after they refused to give him a cigarette.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken police arrested a Totowa man after he allegedly punched multiple people near Hudson Place during the early morning hours on Sunday, authorities said.
According to the Hoboken Police Department, a pair of officers were called to the scene of a fight on the 100-block of Hudson Place while on patrol around 2:45 a.m. On arrival, the officers found two men on the ground with minor injuries.
The men told officers that their alleged attacker, Dominic Coppa, 22, of Totowa, slugged one of them after they refused to give him a cigarette.

“The two males on the ground were together and assaulted, but only one of them signed a simple assault complaint summons on scene,” a Hoboken police spokesperson said.
Neither victim suffered serious injuries and both declined medical treatment, authorities said.

As officers began to issue the summons, three other men approached them – one with a swollen eye - and said that Coppa struck one of them as well.
Hoboken police arrested Coppa and charged him with aggravated assault and simple assault. He was also charged with hindering apprehension for providing the officers with a different name, authorities said.
