Hoboken Crash Ends With DWI Charges For Jersey City Driver
A Jersey City woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after a collision near 5th and Jackson streets in Hoboken, authorities said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — A Jersey City woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after a collision near 5th and Jackson streets in Hoboken on Sunday night, authorities said.
According to the Hoboken Police Department, officers responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the area around 10:25 p.m. On arrival, the officers found two vehicles at the intersection: a 2018 Chevy and a 2019 Jeep.
As officers approached the Jeep, they saw the driver standing outside the vehicle. The officers allegedly detected the odor of alcohol coming from her breath and saw a cup that apparently had an alcoholic beverage inside, police said.

The driver allegedly appeared “slow, dazed and confused” as she attempted to retrieve her credentials, police said.
When she failed to complete a field sobriety test, police arrested her and transported her to headquarters, where she provided a breath sample and found to be above the legal limit, authorities said.

The driver of the Chevy complained of pain and was treated on scene, police said.
Authorities charged the driver with driving while intoxicated, DWI in a school zone, driving the wrong way on a one-way, open container in a vehicle, reckless driving and assault by auto.
