Hoboken Daily News Store Replaced By Gelato 'Laboratory'
A longtime corner grocery and magazine store on Washington Street will become Il Laboratorio Del Gelato, which has sold 300 flavors.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken Daily News, the longtime grocery and magazine store at 500 Washington St., closed down recently and will now be replaced with something sweet.
A new location for Il Laboratorio del Gelato is set to open there, according to signage that was posted Tuesday. The ice cream and sorbet shop — founded in Manhattan by Jon Snyder in 2002 — has tried out hundreds of flavors.
Snyder spent his summers as a child working at his grandparents' Carvel shop in New York state, according to the website. After a career as an entrepreneur and investment banker, he opened the new business.

"We have grown to become NYC’s leading restaurant wholesaler [and retailer] for hand-crafted gelato," says the company. "Even with a flavor list approaching 300, we are still continually challenged by discerning chefs and a dedicated retail clientele."
The shop also has locations in Manhattan and Montclair.
