Hoboken Eats: Local Spots and Restauranteurs Nominated For N.J. Awards

Hoboken will have hometown connections to root for in the first Garden State Culinary Arts Awards.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken will have hometown connections to root for in the first Garden State Culinary Arts Awards.

According to the Garden State Culinary Arts Awards, Cucharamama in Hoboken has been nominated for Best Restaurant.

In addition, The Stewed Cow’s owner Joseph San Phillip and manager Anthony Ruiz have been nominated in the Outstanding Spirits Professional category.

The Hoboken-based Fiore’s was nominated for the Garden State Culinary Legend category.

All candidates in the competition will receive votes from 100 independent judges around the state, including journalists, food writers, cookbook authors and other culinary experts. The top three vote-getters in each category will be announced publicly in April, and after a follow up vote, the final winners will be announced on Saturday, May 6, during a ceremony presented by Buy-Rite Liquors.
