Honey Pot provided 300 packages of period supplies that will immediately be distributed through the Pantry's Family2Family program.
Press release from Hoboken Food Pantry:
July 26, 2021
Period Poverty Awareness Week is May 24-30 to educate on the issue that one in four people struggle to purchase period supplies due to lack of income, according to the Alliance for Period Supplies. This can cause those that menstruate to miss school or work and affect their daily lives. And the effects from COVID-19 can make purchasing supplies even harder.

Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla proclaimed at the last city council meeting that the City of Hoboken would officially recognize this week each year and thanked local organizations for their efforts to help alleviate the burden placed on so many in our community.
The Hoboken Food Pantry was contacted by local resident Anetha Brady who arranged for a product donation from Honey Pot, the first complete plant-derived feminine care system in the market. The company provided 300 packages of period supplies that will immediately be distributed through the Pantry’s Family2Family program.

The program was established to provide non-food items such as baby items, pet items, hygiene items, adult diapers and sanitary supplies to clients. They have the opportunity to “shop” for these goods bi-weekly during set hours at the Pantry. The program is run on in-kind donations from an Amazon Wishlist, corporate and individual donors and local partnerships with pet stores. It currently serves more than 200 households per month.
The Pantry has also connected with national organizations I Support the Girls, Girls Helping Girls. Period., and Period. The Menstrual Movement who provide recurring period product donations.
