HOBOKEN, NJ — Now that Gov. Phil Murphy has allowed outdoor gatherings of 250 people through July 2, and 500 afterward, some towns are allowing in-person graduation ceremonies with social distancing.

In an edition of her newsletter on Sunday, Hoboken Superintendent of Schools Christine Johnson wrote, "Our High School Graduation will be held at JFK Stadium on Wednesday, July 8 at 6 p.m. Our Middle School Moving Up Ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 9 at 6 p.m. also at JFK Stadium."

The Hoboken public schools are slated to reopen Tuesday, Sept. 8, but whether it will be in person will be determined by the state. The state is presently considering in-person schooling, virtual schooling, and a "blended option" involving both. The state is likely to offer more guidelines some time this week, one official said.
