Hoboken Man Says He Was Assaulted On Corner On New Year's Eve

The man said he was hit from behind by two men and fell unconscious on a busy street corner.

HOBOKEN, NJ —The Hoboken police said that on Wednesday, New Year's Eve, a man reported that he was crossing at the busy corner of Hudson and Newark streets at 5:41 p.m. when he was "pulled from behind to the ground by two males, which caused him to hit his head and go unconscious."

That corner is often crowded with commuters around that time, as it's a block from the train station.

Police said the man "described one actor as a short black male wearing a red vest and other actor as average height white male wearing a red vest" but did not recall anything else. He also said he couldn't find his iPhone 11 and wasn't sure if he lost it during the assault or beforehand, according to police.
