Hoboken Man Struck Woman With Pipe, Cut Her Finger: Police

Hoboken police arrested a local man after he allegedly pushed a woman down, struck her in the back with a metal pipe and cut her finger.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken police arrested a local man after he allegedly pushed a woman down, struck her in the back with a metal pipe and cut her finger with a knife last week.

According to the Hoboken Police Department, Randell Richardson, 41, of Hoboken, allegedly got into an argument with the female victim inside her apartment on the 300-block of Marshall Drive around 9:45 p.m. on Aug. 16.

As the argument heated up, Richardson allegedly pushed the victim to the ground and grabbed a metal pipe, striking her in the back. He then picked up a knife and cut her on the finger after a struggle, causing a small laceration. Richardson then fled the scene, police stated.

Members of the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps treated the victim on scene for a “small laceration” on her finger, police said.

Hoboken police later arrested Richardson at his home on the 300-block of Harrison Street. During a search of his person, officers found two ecstasy pills, authorities said.

Authorities charged Richardson with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon, Possession of Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, Possession of CDS, Bail Jumping and Possession of CDS Ecstacy. He was remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
