As the officer provided headquarters a description, he approached Cutrone in an attempt to stop him from getting on the vehicle. But Cutrone began to ride the e-scooter away, authorities said.
The officer pursued Cutrone in his police vehicle with lights and sirens on. As he watched, Cutrone “swayed back and forth, appearing as if he was going to lose control at any moment,” police said.

After driving about a block, Cutrone stopped the scooter and took a field sobriety test. After he failed the test, police arrested him and transported him to headquarters, where he refused to provide breath samples.
Authorities charged Cutrone with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and refusal to submit breath samples. He was released to a responsible party, police said.
