Hoboken Resident/Jersey City Teacher Charged With Sex Assault

The Prosecutor's Office arrested a Dickinson High School teacher at his Hoboken home in connection with an assault of a 17-year-old student.

HOBOKEN, NJ — A Jersey City high school teacher who lives in Hoboken has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a 17-year-old student, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office announced on Tuesday.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit on Monday arrested Francisco Realpe, 43, of Hoboken on charges involving a 17-year-old female student at Dickinson High School in Jersey City.

Suarez said that Realpe was arrested without incident at his home in Hoboken around 7:45 p.m.

According to a press release, the alleged sexual assault was first reported to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office on Friday by the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP). Realpe was arrested three days later following an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office SVU.

Realpe has been a physical education and health teacher Dickinson High School for 14 years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Realpe has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, a second-degree crime; criminal sexual contact, a fourth- degree crime, and endangering the welfare of a child, a second-degree crime.

Realpe was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny pending his first appearance to enter a plea.

Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit for the investigation and arrest with assistance from the Hoboken Police Department.

The above charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
