Hoboken Maxwell's Rock Club Will Become Seafood Restaurant
The seafood eatery and raw bar will tentatively be named Sirenetta, according to a report.
HOBOKEN, NJ — As reported in January, the storied Maxwell's rock club in Hoboken has been transforming into an upscale seafood restaurant. The club closed for good in early 2018 and was later purchased by the owner of Sorellina, the Italian restaurant across the street.
On Monday, the website JerseyDigs published a rendering and story about the upcoming eatery, located at Eleventh and Washington streets. They said it will tentatively be named Sirenetta, and will have a raw bar.
According to the story, the restaurant, owned by Gabi Lombardi, will "be a food-and-wine-focused endeavor sporting a drink menu of specialty cocktails. The overhaul of the 3,565-square-foot space was designed by local firm Nastasi Architects and will alter the previous aesthetic a bit, replacing the trademark blue of Maxwell’s exterior with gray panels sporting a series of bi-folding windows." It will also have outdoor seating.
