Hoboken Museum Events: Poetry, Film Series, 'Hobokenite' Talks
A group of contemporary writers, artists and musicians will gather at the Hoboken Historical Museum on Sunday, April 2.

From the Hoboken Museum: Blending history, art and the spoken word, a group of contemporary writers, artists and musicians will gather at the Hoboken Historical Museum on Sunday, April 2, 3 p.m., for an event inspired by the photographs of Michael Flanagan, currently on display in the Museum’s main gallery. All of the artists lived in and around Hoboken in the 1980s, and each was invited by the Museum’s poet in residence, Danny Shot, to choose one or two photos from the exhibition, "Hoboken People & Places, 1976-1994: Photographs by Michael Flanagan," and write a piece to read aloud.
This two-hour public event will feature 11 contemporary writers, artists, and musicians reading a selection of their own work written in response to Flanagan’s photos, and speaking about their own perspective on Hoboken over the years. Taking part in this project are: Chris Burkhardt, Rosette Capotorto, Paul Drexel, Roxanne Hoffman, Joel Lewis, James Mastro, Greg Ribot, James Ruggia, Sheilah Scully, Lynne Shapiro and Danny Shot. A $5 donation is suggested.
The event takes place on April 2, 2017, at 3 p.m., at the Hoboken Museum, 1301 Hudson St.
