Hoboken Plans National Night Out 2018 In Church Square Park

The City of Hoboken and the Hoboken Police Department invite residents to participate in National Night Out on Tuesday, August 7 from 5-9 p.m. in Church Square Park. National Night Out is an annual event meant to foster relationships between police and residents as a part of community policing.

"National Night Out is the original event that worked to bring together the police, the community, businesses and other first responders, in a way to make a strong stance against crime and share crime prevention strategies,” said Hoboken Police Chief Ken Ferrante. “While we are involved in many events around the city throughout the year, this is the night we look most forward to as the landmark of police networking with the public."

This year, activities include stage performances, free food, a photo booth, child car seat installations, bounce houses, and more activities for people of all ages.

“National Night Out is a great way for members of the community to get to know their local police officers, and I’m looking forward to attending for the first time as mayor,” said Hoboken Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla. “Hoboken has seen a 10 percent drop in crime compared to this time last year, and I believe a big reason is the healthy relationship between HPD and the community.”

National Night Out is free and open to all.
