Hoboken Police Arrest Jersey City Man And Woman After Foot Chase
Police say the man had five other warrants out on him, and the woman had four.
HOBOKEN — Police in Hoboken arrested a woman and a man from Jersey City on attempted burglary charges, and found out that each had several other warrants, they said on Monday. They also said that the arrests came after a foot chase.
Lovett Rodriguez, 29, a male from Jersey City, was charged with a criminal attempt of burglary and resisting by flight. Bayla Martinez, 24, a woman from Jersey City, has been charged with criminal attempt of burglary, obstructing administration of the law, and drug paraphernalia.
Police said that around 8:48 p.m. on Saturday night, officers were dispatched to the area of 11th and Madison Street on a report of a man and woman allegedly pulling on car doors, after someone called police and gave a description.

Sgt. Luke Zeszotarski, Officer William Bullock, and Officer Samuel Flores responded and met up with the caller, who pointed toward a man. The man allegedly began running.
Sgt. Zeszotarski chased Lovett Rodriguez on foot for two blocks, then apprehended him in the area of Ninth and Madison streets. Officer Bullock drove his radio car around the block to assist, and also saw a female fitting the description given by the caller. Police say that the woman ran across the street, and Bullock arrested her, assisted by Officer Spano. Police allege that they found drug paraphernalia on her.

Police say that Rodriguez had five warrants out for his arrest: three from Jersey City, one from Hoboken, and one from Ocean County. He was transported to the Hudson County Jail. Police say that Martinez had four warrants out: one from Jersey City, one from Paramus, one from Wayne, and one from Union. She was transported to the Hudson County Jail.
The pair are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
