Hoboken Police: Burglary Suspect Arrested 14 Times In 1 Year
Authorities apprehended a man who they believe may be responsible for several recent burglaries in Hoboken.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Authorities have apprehended a local man who they believe may be responsible for several recent burglaries in Hoboken. According to police, the suspect - Alexis Rivera, 38, of Hoboken – has been arrested 14 times for burglary and theft-related crimes in the city since January 2017.
Rivera’s latest arrest came Saturday, after Hoboken police issued a warrant in connection with an alleged burglary that took place at a building on the 1200-block of Grand Street, the Hoboken Police Department stated.
During that incident, officers arrived at the building’s mail room to find several packages “ripped open” and missing their contents. After conducting an investigation, police identified Rivera as a a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest, authorities said.

Jersey City police apprehended Rivera later that evening, finding him in possession of multiple suspected stolen items, authorities said.
“At this time, we are trying to ascertain if any of the belongings are related to any Hoboken victims,” police said Monday.

Hoboken police charged Rivera with burglary, three counts of theft by unlawful taking and possession of burglary tools in connection with the Jan. 26 incident. In addition, Hoboken police also charged Rivera with the following alleged crimes:
- Burglary and theft of movable property for an incident that occurred on the 300 block of Jefferson Street on January 3, 2018
- Burglary, theft of movable property and criminal mischief for an incident that occurred on January 4, 2018 on the 1300 block of Adams Street
- Burglary and theft of movable property for an incident that occurred on December 26, 2017 on the 1300 block of Adams Street
