Hoboken Police Find 'Anti-Asian Hate Speech' In Front Of Garage
The police were able to obtain video of a man who was "bald, with a medium build" spray painting outside the garage on Friday evening.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken police said on Sunday that they responded Saturday to what they termed "anti-Asian hate speech" outside of a residence near Third and Clinton streets, in the southwest area of the mile-square city.
The police said that in front of garage doors, it said, "1 AMOR = 3 C***** USA #1 C***** DIE.”
Investigative detectives Bret Globke and Officer Ryan Houghton spoke to numerous residents in the area on Saturday, police said. There had been no similar reported incidents in this area, police said.

Detectives were able to obtain surveillance footage that showed a suspect nearby at approximately 10:56 p.m. on Friday, walking south on Clinton Street from Third Street. The video shows that a suspect spray painted in front of the garage, then kept walking.
"The suspect then entered the parking lot of the building and shortly after, left the lot and walked south on Clinton towards Second St at approximately 11:11 p.m.," the police wrote in a release.

The suspect was described as a light skinned male, bald, with a medium build, wearing dark colored clothing and dark shoes.
Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla stated, “Hate has absolutely no place in Hoboken, not now, not in the future, not ever. Hoboken is a fair and welcoming city where all are equal and accepted."
He added, "I stand with our Asian American community in condemning this racist act in the strongest terms possible. I thank our Hoboken Police Department for responding to the scene and taking quick action to investigate this incident."
