Shooting Call Determined To Be A 'Hoax' In Hoboken: Police
Police had said to avoid one block in Hoboken due to "ongoing police activity and investigation in the area. Updates to come."
HOBOKEN, NJ — The city of Hoboken and the police sent a message Monday evening warning residents to avoid a block of Grand Street, from Newark to First streets, because of "police activity." But a followup message said the matter was a false call from someone claiming to have shot another person. SEE THE UPDATE HERE.
Police posted on social media at 7:27 p.m.:
Police Activity Update: The @HobokenPD has cleared the scene after responding to a call of a possible shooting that has been determined to be a hoax. There are no public safety concerns at this time. Thank you for your patience @CityofHoboken @HobokenOEM
