Hoboken Police: Woman Reports Daylight Groping On Washington Street

Hoboken police arrested a Bayonne man last week after he allegedly groped a woman on Washington Street, authorities say.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken police arrested a Bayonne man last week after he allegedly groped a woman on Washington Street, authorities say.

According to the Hoboken Police Department, officers arrived in the area of 120 Washington Street around 12:20 p.m. to meet a victim who reported an instance of criminal sexual contact. On arrival, the woman told officers that a male suspect approached her and complimented her on her looks.

The woman told officers that the man then slid his hand onto her thigh and buttocks and left the area, authorities said.

Hoboken police later found the suspect – Henry Perkins, 32, of Bayonne - a short distance from the scene, authorities said.

Police charged the man with criminal sexual contact and obstruction. He was assigned a $2,000 bail with a 10 percent option and remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
