Hoboken Police: Woman Takes Over For Drunk Driver, Hits More Cars
Hoboken Police: A woman tried to take over driving duties for a drunken friend who clipped a pair of vehicles... then she hit two more cars.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken police allege that a drunken woman tried to take over driving duties for her intoxicated companion after she clipped a pair of parked cars last week. But she didn’t fare much better, hitting a pair of cars herself before officers eventually placed them both under arrest.
The collisions took place around 3:47 a.m. on March 31 near the 100-block of 2nd Street, Hoboken police said.
Officers responded to the area after receiving a report about a vehicle striking several parked cars. On arrival, police found Jamila Bank, 24, of Alexandria, Virginia, and Janelle Green, 23, of Newark, in a car. Both Bank and Green “appeared to be highly intoxicated,” and officers allegedly smelled the “strong odor” of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle, authorities said.

“After speaking [to Bank and Green] further, it was determined that they switched positions after the initial accident,” Hoboken police alleged. “They then struck two other vehicles after the switch.”
Police gave Bank and Green an on-scene field sobriety test, which they both failed. Both were found to be above the legal alcohol limit after providing breath samples at headquarters, authorities said.
