Hoboken Residents Report Gunfire; Cops Find No Shells, Shooter
Hoboken police launched an investigation after shots were reportedly fired on Sunday evening.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken police launched an investigation after shots were reportedly fired on Sunday evening. However, detectives weren’t able to find any shooters or evidence of gunplay such as “shell casings or slugs,” authorities said.
According to the Hoboken Police Department, officers responded to the area near 3rd and Harrison streets after receiving a report of shots fired around 8 p.m. On arrival, the officers spoke with witnesses who told them that gunfire took place in the area.
The officers then canvassed the area in search of any suspects, victims or evidence such as bullet casings, but found nothing, authorities said.

The witnesses said that a man in a hooded sweatshirt exited a vehicle – possibly a dark-colored Buick – fired a weapon three or four times, then got into a second car – possibly a dark-colored BMW – which fled south on Harrison Street.
“Detectives are currently investigating what motivated this incident and if anyone was a specific target,” the Hoboken Police Department stated Monday.
