Hoboken SantaCon Arrest Numbers Released (And More Photos)

From public urination to DWI, the Hoboken police released information on police calls during SantaCon weekend 2023.

HOBOKEN, NJ — After a weekend with two bar crawls in Hoboken — named SantaCon and Ho-Ho-Hoboken — police said the number of arrests and emergency calls was "typical" of a weekend in Hoboken.

There were four arrests between noon Saturday and 4 a.m. Sunday, said public safety spokesperson Marci Rubin. The numbers were similar to the previous year's SantaCon weekend.

Of the four arrests, only two were bar-crawl related, including one for DWI, Rubin said.

Fourteen people were taken to the Emergency Room by the Hoboken volunteer ambulance squad, she said.

Thirty-four summonses were issued for violations of city ordinances, including having an open alcohol container, drinking in public, and urinating in public.

Two bars were cited for over-occupancy by the Fire Department.

"Despite the largest attendance at the weekend holiday bar crawls since the pandemic, calls for service and arrest numbers were typical of any given Saturday in Hoboken," Rubin told Patch.

She added, "All Public Safety Department divisions had additional staff on duty and a zero-tolerance policy was implemented. We thank all our first responders."
