Hoboken Shelter to Host 'Spring Fever Happy Hour' to Benefit Homeless on Wednesday

Fundraiser will include food, half-price drinks, live music and prizes.

This Wednesday, stop off at the bar and have a drink… for charity.

On April 29, the Hoboken Shelter will celebrate spring with a happy hour to benefit the city’s homeless community from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the City Bistro Restaurant Lounge Bar, 56-58 14th St.

The fundraiser will feature live music, light appetizers, half-price drinks, prizes and raffles. Organizers are asking for a $25 donation at the door for admission.

According to a release, all proceeds from the event will go to support the shelter’s mission of transforming lives by providing food, shelter and supportive services. [See related Patch article]

“The proceeds from events like these benefit our homeless guests by helping them develop the skills needed to gain employment, achieve independence, and re-integrate into the community,” stated Jaclyn Cherubini, executive director of the Hoboken Shelter.

“We helped 141 of our guests to become housed in 2014, and our ultimate goal is to end homelessness in Hudson County one person at a time.”
