UPDATE Hoboken Water Main Break Repairs Continue Late Saturday
The break closed a heavily traveled block near 14th Street and Willow Avenue Saturday, but the businesses on the corner were open..
HOBOKEN, NJ —Crews in Hoboken were still working to repair a massive water main break near the city's northern entrance around 9 p.m. on Saturday evening, 13 hours after the break was first reported.
Suez Tweeted around 9 p.m. that work was continuing and was expected to finish later at night. Crews were delivering bottled water to two buildings at Twelfth and Willow.
While the flooding occurred near a popular Trader Joe's grocery store, shoppers were able to enter by heading to the back entrance on Clinton Street near 14th Street, and climbing a ramp around to the front.

Suez Water crews and police were on the scene. Drivers were advised to avoid the normally busy area, which was less crowded than usual Saturday, likely because some residents are away for the holiday weekend.
A project to repair Hoboken's century-old water mains began this past fall.
