Honoring Earth Day in Hoboken: Poster Contest Winners

Mayor Dawn Zimmer congratulates participants; Winning art will be on display in lobby of City Hall.

The City of Hoboken recently announced the winners of the Earth Day poster contest, which was open to all Hoboken school children.

According to a release, the contest – judged by a panel of community members – received over 170 submissions.

The overall poster contest winner was Samara Bruschi, a second-grader at Salvatore R. Calabro School.

Winners in each participating school and honorable mentions were presented with certificates by Mayor Dawn Zimmer. All of the posters will be on display in the lobby of City Hall, and the winning posters will also be displayed during the Hoboken Green Fair scheduled for Sunday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Church Square Park.

“Congratulations to the winners and to all of the students who participated,” stated Mayor Dawn Zimmer. “I’m very proud of all of our students who have thought about ways to protect the Earth.”
