HOPES CAP, Inc.’s Youth “Leaders in Training Club"

to Empower Hoboken Teenagers

HOPES Community Action Partnership, Inc. was awarded $2,000 from Party With Purpose (PWP) to inspire Hoboken teenagers to be L.I.T. (Leaders in Training). HOPES’ L.I.T. Club, led by Ashley Barron, Community Education Advocate, will meet weekly to engage youth in team and leadership building activities. These sessions will include workshops and discussions about leadership characteristics. These sessions will tentatively be on Wednesdays at 2 PM, in the Rue Computer Lab. Sign up at https://www.hopes.org/youth-lit-club

The primary function of the club is to foster leadership in our Hoboken community’s teens. Discussions will challenge participants to think strategically and innovatively, while empowering and teaching them how to constructively articulate and advocate in support of their views. The program also encourages participants to become actively engaged and exercise positive influences in their community through involvement in volunteer opportunities. This club will empower, strengthen, and inspire our youth to be an integral part of driving positive change and help develop qualities needed in our future leaders.
