NORTH JERSEY — If you've seen (and heard) more military planes and ships than usual this week, not to worry: It's Fleet Week.
Fleet Week in New York City kicked off on Wednesday, May 24, and runs through Tuesday, May 30.
The U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard participate in the week each year, which involves events (such as air shows) and tours. Active military ships dock in the city and are open to the public. At the same time, the crews can visit the city.
