Hudson County Gym Trainer Sexually Assaulted Child: Prosecutor
Police arrested a Hudson County gym trainer accused of sexually assaulting a child in Hawaii.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Police apprehended a man accused of sexually assaulting a child in Hawaii earlier this week. He was working as a trainer in a West New York gym at the time of his arrest, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office stated.
According to prosecutors, Daniel M. Brito, 27, of West New York, was wanted in Hawaii for three counts of sexual assault against a child. He was working as a trainer at a gym on Bergenline Avenue in West New York at the time of his arrest.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office (HCPO) began its investigation of Brito after the Honolulu Police Department alerted their detectives that he might be in the area. HCPO detectives apprehended Brito without incident at his place of employment on Sept. 22.

Brito is scheduled to have his First Appearance Hearing and Extradition Hearing on Thursday in the Hudson County Administration Building in Jersey City. He is expected be held in the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending extradition proceedings, prosecutors said.
