Hudson County Man, 34, Found Dead, WNY Man Charged With Assault
A West New York man has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with an "interaction" with the man who died on Wednesday.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A West New York man has been charged with aggravated assault following the death of a 34-year-old Wednesday, officials said.
Local police were notified of an injured man near 60th Street and JFK Boulevard East in West New York about 11:35 p.m. that evening, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s office said.
Jose Cepeda, 34, of West New York, was found "lifeless," with visible injuries to his upper body, prosecutors said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:23 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29.
During a subsequent investigation, the Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit arrested and charged Wilfredo Flores, 36, of West New York, with one count of aggravated assault.

"The charge stems from an interaction between Cepeda and Flores on (or about) Tuesday, December 27, 2022," prosecutors said. "Additional charges may be forthcoming."
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the West New York Police Department are investigating.
