Hudson County Woman Apologizes For Viral Rant With Slurs

Party City posted a response to her rant and terminated her, according to their social media.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A Hudson County woman apologized on Facebook after a video of her ranting in her car, and using racial slurs, went viral. She was fired by Party City on Thursday.

In the viral video, the woman says that she was filming it because "Just now, a [slur repeated twice] ran the [expletive] stoplight and looked at me like it was my [expletive] fault." She then utters an expletive against the Black Lives Matter movement and uses threatening language.

Thursday, Party City posted on its social media, "Today, @PartyCity, we became aware of a disturbing video post & notified the appropriate authorities due to the threatening and disgusting nature of the content. We have terminated the employee who produced & posted the video. We have zero tolerance for this type of behavior & language."

NJ.com and other outlets identified the woman as Jacqueline DeLuca of Hudson County.

On Thursday, DeLuca posted on Facebook, "This is very hard to do being that my fear for everyone who chooses not to listen because no matter the situation or case to why I expressed myself this way in such a way will mean nothing. This is my apology to you ALL. I regret using such words against a race I know everyone is behind for and I never meant to hurt anyone in anyway. I let anger get the best of me at the moment and I ask as a human to please forgive what I'm trying to get across. This is NOT who iam and for those who know me I'm sorry again if this affected you and to those who dont know me im sorry x 100000000 because this is not someone I wished ppl to know me by but someone who is about change and equality and with everything going on, I was sucked in to the evil and confusion."

Commenters responded, some saying they knew she wasn't raised that way, other declining to accept the apology, and one pointing to this post in February about Italians, which has an offensive comment posted under it against the Chinese.

Another commenter said, "Hopefully you come to your senses and you pull yourself together. I’ve met your family and know they don’t represent this."
