Inserra Supermarkets Donates $410K For Diabetes Research
Inserra Supermarkets CEO Lawrence Inserra Jr. promised to dress up as Snoopy if stores hit their fundraising goals.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Inserra Supermarkets and the Inserra Family Foundation recently presented the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRIF) with a check for $410,114.
According to a company news release, the donation resulted from its annual summer DRI fundraisers at all of its Inserra family-owned-and-operated ShopRite and Price Rite Marketplace stores.

“The Inserra Family matched the $205,057 donations raised at the stores. During the check presentation, Inserra Supermarkets Chairman and CEO Lawrence Inserra, Jr. fulfilled a campaign promise to dress up as Snoopy if the stores exceeded their fundraising goals. All money donated goes directly to the innovative research for the cure at the Diabetes Research Institute.”
