Inserra Supermarkets Gives $345K To Fight Diabetes: Hoboken Event

Inserra Supermarkets recently donated a check for $345,164 to the Diabetes Research Institute during an event held at ShopRite of Hoboken.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Inserra Supermarkets recently donated a check for $345,164 to the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI), a research center dedicated to curing diabetes, during an event held at ShopRite of Hoboken.

The funds were raised during Inserra Supermarkets’ annual DRI fundraiser; the Inserra Family Foundation matched every dollar raised during the campaign, according to a company news release.

Inserra owns and operates 22 ShopRite stores in Bergen, Hudson and Passaic Counties in New Jersey and Rockland County, NY, as well as a Price Rite Supermarket in Garfield.

The issue of diabetes research and treatment is a personal matter to many of the chain’s employees, including Lindsey Inserra, a fourth-generation family member who works for the company and who spoke at the Hoboken event.
