It’s About To Get Hot In Hudson County: Heat Warning Issued
Hudson County OEM: "Heat index values will rise over the next few days, potentially reaching 107 to 112 degrees."
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — It’s about to get hot in Hudson County, officials say.
On Thursday morning, the Hudson County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) issued a weather-related alert in the face of an expected heat wave.
The OEM stated:

“Extreme heat is forecast through the weekend. An Excessive Heat Warning is posted today through 10 p.m. Sunday. High temperatures and humidity on Thursday will create heat index values near 100 degrees in the warning area. An Excessive Heat Watch is posted for all remaining New Jersey counties from noon Friday through 10 p.m. Sunday.”
Hudson County OEM officials added:
“High heat index temperatures increase the risk of life-threatening heat-related illness. Vulnerable populations include the elderly, very young, people with chronic health issues, those with heart and lung conditions, people without air conditioning, pets, and people working outside. Heat index values will rise over the next few days, potentially reaching 107 to 112 degrees on Saturday.”

“Vulnerable populations include the elderly, very young, people with chronic health issues, those with heart and lung conditions, people without air conditioning, pets, and people working outside. Citizens should remain indoors in air condition or seek a cooling center by calling 211 or your local emergency management office.”
