Judge Denies Raia’s Motion In Hoboken Voter Fraud Case: Report
Frank "Pupie" Raia is accused of running a voter bribery scheme during the 2013 Hoboken municipal election.

HOBOKEN, NJ — A real estate developer and former Hoboken City Council candidate accused of running a voter bribery scheme in 2013 will face charges alongside his alleged co-conspirator, a report says.
On Monday, a federal judge denied a request from Frank “Pupie” Raia to have his case severed from that of Dio Braxton, who worked for Raia's campaign in 2013. Both men have denied the charges, NJ.com reported. (Read the full article here)
According to prosecutors, the alleged bribery took place during Hoboken’s 2013 election. Prosecutors allege Raia spearheaded an operation that promised voters $50 in exchange for applying for and casting mail-in ballots, NJ.com reported.

“That year, Raia, a Democrat, was an at-large council candidate in the city’s nonpartisan municipal race and supported a voter referendum that would have weakened rent-control laws. He and the referendum lost.”
