Jury Convicts Jersey City Man Of Sexually Assaulting Stepdaughter From Age 8-9: Prosecutor
After a 3-day trial, a jury convicted a Jersey City man of repeatedly sexually assaulting his stepdaughter, prosecutors said.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — After a 3-day trial, a 39-year-old Jersey City man was convicted of all charges relating to the sexual assault of his stepdaughter, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office announced on Monday.
The crimes occurred from 2018 to 2020 when the girl was ages 8 and 9, prosecutors said.
The defendant was convicted on Friday by a jury of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault by contact, and endangering the welfare of a child.

The man's name was withheld to protect the identity of the minor.
The defendant faces 25 years to life in New Jersey State Prison at sentencing, which is tentatively scheduled for May 19, 2023. He is subject to Parole Supervision for Life and Megan’s Lawregistration as a sex offender.

The verdict was delivered before the Hon. Mitchell L. Pascual. The state was represented by Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Dennis Murray.
“Crimes on children are heinous, even more so when the defendant is trusted to care and provide
for the victim,” said Murray. “We thank the jury for its service in this matter and are hopeful this conviction provides healing to the victim on the continued road to recovery.”
