Kids Present When Man Is Arrested By Hudson County Gangs Task Force: Prosecutors
A Hudson County man has been charged weapons and drug offenses, as well as child endangerment because kids were present, prosecutors said.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A Jersey City man was arrested Friday following a narcotics investigation, and was charged with child endangerment because two children were present when investigators seized suspected cocaine and heroin in the home, prosecutors say.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs Task Force arrested Robert Johnson, 38, "following a weeks-long narcotics investigation," they said on Monday.
Early on Friday, Aug. 18, the Gangs Task Force and the county SWAT team executed a search warrant at Johnson's home on Van Wagenen Avenue.

"The search resulted in the seizure of suspected cocaine, heroin, and drug paraphernalia," prosecutors sai. "Two children were present in the home at the time the court-authorized search was conducted."
Johnson was charged with two counts of Possession with the Intent to Distribute within 1,000 Feet of a School; two counts of Possession with the Intent to Distribute within 500 Feet of Public Property, two counts of Possession with the Intent to Distribute, and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

He was taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance, which is tentatively scheduled for this Wednesday, prosecutors said.
