KikiLu Small Batch Gelato And Espresso Shop Opens In Hoboken: See Menu Here

HOBOKEN, NJ — 'Tis the season for ice cream in Hoboken, now that a second gelato shop has opened in the mile-square city in as many weeks.

A new Italian shop serving creative gelato and espresso drinks held its soft opening on Friday. It also has a cannoli bar.

KikiLu at 900 Garden St. offers a range of items, from gelato flavors like limone and olive oil to lattes with the "milkiest milk imaginable," to chocolate milk with cacao from Holland.

Their cannoli bar includes fresh-baked cannoli shells.

The shop has been long awaited, as workers have been transforming a former cleaners for more than a year.

After lines wound down the block this weekend, the shop said it would be closed Mondays and Tuesdays for now, and open mostly at night so the could make "absolutely the freshest gelatos possible."

The shop is six blocks from another new gelato offering in Hoboken, Il Laboratorio del Gelato, which offers 48 flavors a day. Read about that one here.
