As Line Of Thunderstorms Reaches Hoboken, NWS Issues Statement

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — According to Accuweather radar, the line of thunderstorms heading through the Hudson County area will bring heavy rain, gusts, and possibly pea-sized hail to Hoboken and Jersey City shortly. The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement:
...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Hudson, eastern Passaic, Union, Bergen, Essex, eastern Orange, western Putnam, Queens, Bronx, Richmond, Kings, Rockland, Westchester and New York (Manhattan) Counties through 1015 PM EDT...
At 920 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Gardnertown to near Oakwood. Movement of the line was east at 15 mph. Multiple areas of embedded showers and thunderstorms are rapidly moving northward along this line.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include... Newark, Jersey City, Yonkers, Paterson, Elizabeth, Flatbush, Flushing, Passaic, Bayonne, Wayne, Mott Haven, Hoboken, Bloomfield, East Tremont and Hackensack.
