Make-A-Wish NJ To Hold Benefit Event At Liberty State Park

From Make - A - Wish NJ: On September 23 rd , Make-A- Wish New Jersey will host its annual Walk for Wishes at Liberty State Park in Jersey City. The mission of Make-A- Wish is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

Guests of all ages and abilities are invited to join the annual “walk and roll” event, as an individual or as part of a team, at nj.wish.org/walk. Participants will enjoy a non-competitive, handicap-accessible course through
Liberty State Park with magnificent views of the New York City skyline, followed by a fun-filled day of music,
entertainment, games, food and fun. Prizes for the highest-performing fundraising individuals and teams will be awarded as well.

During the 2017 Walk For Wishes opening ceremonies, guests will be introduced to a New Jersey wish family who recently experienced the power of a wish and hear how their wish gave them hope, strength and joy during a time when they needed it most.

President & Chief Executive Officer for Make-A- Wish New Jersey. “This year, we will grant over 500 wishes to New Jersey children with life-threatening medical conditions – more wishes than we’ve ever granted before!

Make-A- Wish New Jersey has granted over 9,500 wishes to local children with life-threatening medical conditions since its inception in 1983. The average cost of a wish in New Jersey is $10,000.
Registration for the Liberty State Park Walk for Wishes will begin at 9:00AM, and the walk begins at
10:00AM.

In addition to the Jersey City walk, Make-A- Wish New Jersey will host a second for Walk for Wishes on
October 15th in Monroe Township, New Jersey, at the Samuel & Josephine Plumeri Wishing Place, home of Make-A- Wish New Jersey. More information on the Monroe Township walk can also be found at
