Malibu Diner In Hoboken: Large Menu, Space, Eggs Bennys All Day

Those looking for a classic Jersey diner can't go wrong with Hoboken's Malibu, which has an extensive menu and ample space to dine.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Those looking for a classic Jersey diner with an extensive menu, space for groups, and eggs Benedict all day can't go wrong with the Malibu Diner in Hoboken, which has been perched at the northern entrance to the mile-square city since the 1940s.

While space for restaurants is usually limited in Hoboken, the Malibu offers two rooms with tables and booths, a wide array of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, and a display of cakes and pies.

The lure of a diner is in its variety. The Babalis family, which took over the Malibu in 1979, offers everything from more than a dozen types of omelets to pancakes to seafood and pasta, steak, sandwiches, wraps, salads, and sides.

As a testament to the extensive menu of over 100 items, the Malibu offers nine types of panini sandwiches alone, from a Cuban Panini with grilled ham and roast turkey, to a Philly Cheese or pastrami panini, to a more veggie-friendly portobello.

Three-egg omelets and skillets are popular too, and for dinner, a hungry patron can't go wrong with the half chicken and apple stuffing.
