Man, 55, Dies In Hudson County Apartment Fire Early Sunday
The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force is investigating a fire that took the life of a local man early Sunday morning.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A 55-year-old West New York resident died in an apartment fire early Sunday morning, the Hudson County Prosecutor's office said Monday. A county arson task force is investigating.
The office of Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said that just before 5 a.m. Sunday, North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue was notified of a fire at an apartment located above 6213 Bergenline Ave.
First responders found heavy smoke coming from a bedroom within the apartment, prosecutors said. They found an unresponsive man, tentatively identified as Adrian Hernandez-Bienes, inside the bedroom.

He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, prosecutors say.
Two additional occupants self-evacuated from the building, prosecutors say.

A preliminary investigation by the Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force determined the fire originated in an apartment bedroom, prosecutors said. The cause remains under investigation.
The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force, North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue, and the West New York Police Department are investigating.
