When the detectives caught up to Gomez, he allegedly attempted to ride around them. Once stopped, he resisted arrest by “physically tightening his arms and contorting his body while clinching his left hand in a fist,” police reported.

At that time he allegedly attempted to throw detectives onto a four-foot gate, and began “kneeing detectives in the groin area” as he attempted to flee. One of the detectives was injured as a result of Gomez’s combative behavior, and was later treated for abrasions to his hands and fingers as well as an injury to his leg.
