Man Bites Hoboken Police Officer After Narcan Administered: Cops

Hoboken emergency workers administered Narcan to a man who was having a seizure on a bus. Then he bit a policeman, according to police.

HOBOKEN, NJ — After emergency workers administered Narcan to a man having a seizure on a bus in Hoboken, he ended up biting a police officer's finger, police said.

Angel Turbides, 35, of Jersey City, was arrested on Dec. 5 for two counts of aggravated assault on police, they said.

Police said that on Dec. 5, around 10:30 a.m., Officers Anthony Olivera and Jonathan Figueroa responded to the area of Eighth Street and Willow Avenue on reports of a man having a seizure on a bus.

When they arrived, Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps EMTs were already putting the man, later identified as Turbides, into the ambulance after having administered Narcan, police said.

When they arrived at Hoboken University Medical Center, according to police, "Turbides became agitated, combative, and refused to cooperate with officers. At one point he became physically aggressive and bit the finger of one officer and scratched another’s hand."

Turbides was placed under arrest, police said. Then, Sgt. Wilfredo Gomez and Sgt. Adam Colon arrived on the scene. Turbides was issued a summons and given a court date.
