Hudson County Man Charged In Fatal Hit-And-Run In Jersey City In March

A Hudson County man, 25, was charged this week in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a Jersey City man, 55, in March.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A Bayonne man was charged on Monday with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision resulting in death, in connection with a fatal Jersey City crash on March 5.

Arley Ulloa, 25, of Bayonne was charged with the second-degree crime on Monday. He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Secaucus and released pending a court appearance on May 30.

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday that at approximately 12:31 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Stegman Avenue and Garfield Avenue.

Officers found Ralph Haynes, 55, of Jersey City with life-threatening injuries. The striking
vehicle did not remain at the scene.

Haynes was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center. He passed away later, at 3:38 p.m.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the
Jersey City Police Department with the investigation and arrest.
