Man Charged In Fight Near Hoboken Train Station That Was Caught On Video In October

A 26-year-old man was arrested by Hoboken police and charged in connection with 2 fights, including one seen in a viral video.

HOBOKEN, NJ — A man has been charged in two separate street fights that took place in Hoboken last year, including one that was caught in a video that showed at least two people lying on the ground near the Hoboken train terminal.

The Hoboken police said Thursday that Joseph Cosenza, 26, of Lyndhurst was arrested on the 200 block of Washington Street on two open warrants. The warrants were issued by Hoboken detectives after an investigation into two fights.

In connection with a fight on Sept. 11, 2022, Cosenza was charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy, police said.

In connection with the fight on Oct. 23 — the one caught on video that was posted to social media — he was charged with aggravated assault, conspiracy, and hindering apprehension. The video appeared to show two people on the ground a block from the train station.

Cosenza was also charged with possession of CDS (controlled dangerous substance) cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said Thursday.
