Man Charged With Sex Crimes Against Boys Under 10 In Hudson County

A Hudson County man was charged Wednesday with the sexual assault of a boy, 4, and a sex crime against a 7-year-old boy.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A 24-year-old West New York man was charged Wednesday in connection with the sexual assault of a 4-year-old boy and a sex crime against a 7-year-old boy, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.

The Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Antonio Yat Pop, 24, of West New York on Thursday and charged him with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, the office said.

The crimes occurred in a West New York residence this past Tuesday, prosecutors said.

The victims are known to Yat Pop, and two additional children were present at the time of the crimes, prosecutors said.

Yat Pop was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and brought to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, prosecutors said.

The state has filed a detention motion that is scheduled to be heard on Tuesday, July 5, prosecutors said.
