Man Fatally Shot On Jersey City Street Saturday Night: Prosecutor

A 34-year-old Jersey City man was fatally shot on Saturday night, prosecutors said. It was the fourth homicide in that city in 2023.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A 34-year-old Jersey City man was fatally shot on Saturday night in that city, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.

At approximately 10:16 p.m. on March 4, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a shooting in the area of 2 Bergen Ave., in the Greenville section.

Officers found Tyreef Robinson, 34, of Jersey City with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:27 p.m.

The police and county prosecutor's office are investigating and no arrests have been made, prosecutors said.

The death was the sixth homicide in Hudson County so far in 2023, NJ.com noted.

Out of those six, four have been domestic violence incidents in which women were killed, two of those in Jersey City. Also, a 25-year-old man was shot in late January in Jersey City Heights.
