National Night Out To Be Held In Hoboken Park On Tuesday
Enjoy free safety demonstrations, games, food, and more Hoboken's annual National Night Out is Tuesday.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken will celebrate National Night Out along with thousands of other communities across the country on Tuesday, Aug. 1. As in past years, there will be tables, giveaways, and bounce houses in Church Square Park and Fourth and Garden streets.
The event, on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023, will run from 5 p.m. through 9 p.m.
National Night Out, held on the first Tuesday of August in communities across the country each year, brings together members of law enforcement and public safety, city residents, businesses, and community leaders to promote and support police-community relationships.

The event, which is co-sponsored by the Hoboken and Stevens Institute of Technology Police Departments this year, also offers residents the opportunity to learn about local police programs, partnerships, and initiatives.
"National Night Out brings together police, the community, businesses and other first responders, to stand against crime together, while spreading awareness about crime prevention,” said Hoboken Public Safety Director Ken Ferrante. “It’s also a great way to strengthen the relationship between the community and law enforcement, a relationship which helps to keep crime down in the city.”

“I am proud of the relationship our department already has built with the Hoboken community,” said Hoboken Police Chief Steven Aguiar. “Events like National Night Out help to solidify our commitment to fostering community engagement and neighborhood camaraderie. Together, we are all working to make Hoboken safer and healthier place to live.”
The Hoboken and Stevens police departments will be joined by representatives of the Hoboken Fire Department, the Hoboken Office of Emergency Management, the Hoboken EMS and Volunteer Ambulance Corps, NJ Transit Police, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, Hoboken’s social workers, and more.
The event features activities for people of all ages.
Highlights include free food including ice cream, hot dogs, empanadas, donuts, and frozen hot chocolate, along with musical entertainment, a photo booth, inflatable mini golf, a water slide, a sensory tent, a bouncy house, and arts and crafts activities.
National Night Out is free, and all are welcome, and encouraged, to attend.
